Doug Meek and Cashers Flat, are in the beginning stages of recording a CD, which could possibly be finished by Sept 2010. With nationally acclaimed fiddle player, Doug Meek leading this group, they have established themselves as one of the best up and coming "Powerhouse" bluegrass bands in the business! Doug has incorporated some of Nashville's finest veterans into his band, Bill Runkle on banjo, who spent 12 years with Del McCroury, and several years with Jimmy Martin, and many other bands. Harold Tipton on guitar, who did work with Flatt and Scruggs and many other top acts, along with his grandfather Bill Meek on mandolin who taught Doug at the age of 3 to play fiddle, has been in bluegrass music for more than 50 years. And Brian Eldreth on bass, who also plays with Dan Paisley and the Southern Grass. Doug Meek has been personally trained by 3 of the greatest fiddle players of our time, 10 time grammy award winner, The Legendary Mr. Bobby Hicks, also Buddy Spicher, and the late great, Vassar Clements. Doug now 21, is a formidable musical force that is to be taken very, very, seriously, and is breaking new ground with his super-charged, progressive style of traditional 5-string fiddle playing, and has become one of the top up and coming fiddle players in the country.

Based in York, Pa., Cashers Flat was originally known as The Fiddle For Fun Band until 2002, which was formed in 1995 by founding members Bill Meek , Doug Meek (then 5yrs.old) , and former member Peck Foster. Cashers Flat matured musically over the years and with many personel changes over the years, rapidly climbed the ladder of success since it emerged in 1995. In the band's 16 year history it has generated a devout following now numbering in the thousands, and grows larger with each and every show. Cashers Flat is well established and is one of the few rock solid bluegrass bands that puts on a show that totally defies ones imagination.
